Sustainable Battery Recycling
Batteries are the most recycled
product in the world. 94% of lead acid battery is
recycleable. The lead is resmelted and reused to make new batteries.
The plastic is reused to make new battery casing. The acid is recovered
and used in other
industrial products and processes such fertilizers, electrolysis and
tanning.With our battery reconditioning system 50% of bateries can be reused. For sustainability individuals and companies should choose reuse over exporting of battery scrap.
The Auckland Regional Authority supports sustainable battery recycling and work closely with us. So does Woosh and Vector energy.
Hybrid Battery Reconditioning
Hybrid cars are economical in fuel but HEV
battery replacement can cost thousands. This stops many people from
purchasing a used hybrid. What a shame because, this is a very good car.Without a working battery the Hybrid car is scrap metal! A replacement battery for the Generation 1 Prius cost $12,000. This is more than the vehicle is worth. Owners and early adopters of this technology have been very badly let down by the Toyota.

cells. We charge between $600 to $1000 to restore and recondition
forklift
batteries. You will get a battery in good
working condition and our twelve month warranty as well. Reconditioned

are
excellent
as
energy
storage
in
battery
banks.
Solar Power
If the voltage of a solar panel falls below
13.5 volts, the battery cannot be charged because of back EMF.
Unlike most panels where peak voltage is 18 volts, amorphous panels
like the BD40 peak is 62 volts.
Even in low light conditions output voltage is above the 13.5 volts
required to charge the battery.
If shadowed non performing cells can cut the current flow. Some panels
use bypass diodes to overcome this problem. When enough cells are
affected the panel stop working.
Amorphous panels converts energy from a wider spectrum of natural
light, and can handle intense direct sunlight. This explains their
ability to work well in low light and in shadows. It will continue to
function even if bird droppings falls on it.
Wind Power
The larger the propellors the more
energy that can be
extracted from the wind. However for a given alternator (motor) there is a maximum limit to the size of the propellors that can be used.
In most locations the average wind speed is around 5.5 meters per second. So the output of a wind generator at this speed is more important than the quoted peak output at 12 meters per second.
Most manufacturers will quote the monthly average output of their wind generator at 5.5 meters a second.
Lithium Ion Batteries
High energy density and
low weight makes
lithium ion batteries a strong candidate for the future in secondary
energy storage. It is increasingly being used in power tools and
becoming the battery of the future in electric vehicles.
